Best Sunset Spots in Bingin & Uluwatu

Jun 3, 2026 | Bali Guides

Sunset is a big part of life in Uluwatu. Whether you’re watching surfers from a cliffside bar, enjoying a cold Bintang by the beach, or settling in for dinner overlooking the ocean, there are countless ways to enjoy golden hour. Here are some of our favourite spots near Sejati.

THE ICONIC ULUWATU CLIFFS

From iconic surf bars to hidden cliff-edge warungs, this is one of Uluwatu’s most legendary sunset spots.

This cliffside maze of bars, restaurants and local warungs has become one of Bali’s most iconic sunset spots. Wander the narrow pathways, browse the small shops, grab a drink, and look down over the world-famous Uluwatu surf break below. There are countless places to choose from, ranging from local warungs serving cold beers and nasi goreng to Single Fin. Tucked further along the cliffs, La Terrazza offers a more chilled sunset setting.

Some of Uluwatu’s best sunsets are found right at the water’s edge. With west-facing coastlines, world-class surf breaks and long stretches of sand, these beaches are perfect for an afternoon swim, a cold drink, or simply watching the day come to an end.

TOP PICKS: Bingin Beach, Thomas Beach, Suluban (Uluwatu Beach), Dreamland, Nyang Nyang & Balangan.

OUR TIP: As you continue further south around the Bukit Peninsula towards Melasti, Pandawa and beyond, you’ll still experience beautiful sunset colours and evening skies. However, because these beaches face south rather than west, they don’t typically offer the direct ocean sunsets and dramatic golden-hour views found at west-facing beaches such as Bingin, Dreamland and Balangan.

SCENIC VIEWPOINTS & CLIFFTOPS

For a slower-paced sunset experience, these viewpoints and the iconic Uluwatu Temple, offer some of Uluwatu’s most spectacular coastal scenery.

COPY HOUSE

Perched on the cliffs of Karang Boma, Copy House is one of Uluwatu’s simplest, but most memorable, sunset experiences. Grab a coffee, fresh coconut or cold drink, roll out a mat on the grass, and settle in. With no loud music, minimum spends or beach club crowds, it’s all about slowing down and soaking up one of the Bukit’s best sunset views.

PANARAMA POINT

A more relaxed, laid-back option for taking in the sunset. This clifftop café and sunset viewpoint, Panorama Point combines panoramic ocean views with comfortable lawn seating, drinks and casual food. It’s a simple, easy-going alternative to the larger sunset bars and beach clubs nearby.

PURA ULUWATU & KECAK DANCE

For one of Bali’s most iconic cultural sunset experiences, Uluwatu Temple combines dramatic clifftop scenery with the famous Kecak Fire Dance held each evening at sunset. Performed in an open-air amphitheatre overlooking the ocean, the show brings Balinese mythology to life through chanting, storytelling and fire against a spectacular sunset backdrop. You can book online here.

TIP: The temple’s resident monkeys are notorious for stealing sunglasses, phones, hats and anything else they can get their hands on. Keep a close eye on your belongings and avoid carrying loose items.

KARANG BOMA CLIFF

One of Uluwatu’s most iconic viewpoints, Karang Boma Cliff offers dramatic cliff-edge views high above the Indian Ocean. Popular with photographers, sunset seekers and content creators, it’s an great place to watch the sun sink towards the horizon while taking in the scale of Bali’s rugged southern coastline.

SUNSET DRINKS & DINING

From sunset cocktails to oceanfront dinners, these venues offer some of Uluwatu’s most memorable golden-hour experiences.

SINGLE FIN

The OG sunset spot of Uluwatu. From its humble beginnings as a cliffside warung in 2008 to the iconic venue it is today, Single Fin has become a rite of passage for visitors to Uluwatu. Arrive early, grab a drink, and settle in overlooking the world-famous surf break below. The views are spectacular, the atmosphere is infectious, and on Sunday evenings the energy ramps up even further.
